Service Description
How Platelet-Rich Plasma Injection Works Platelet-rich plasma injection is an all-natural autologous plasma, meaning it’s derived from the patient’s own components of blood. It’s done by a blood draw from the patient’s own blood supply. The blood sample will then be processed in a centrifuge to separate the blood cells like white blood cells from platelets, increasing the concentration of platelets in the process. The patient’s platelet-rich plasma with the concentrated growth factors will then be injected into the affected area of the scalp skin that exhibits hair loss at equal spacing. These growth factors will help stimulate the growth of a new hair follicle because they’re capable of acting as angiogenic factors, meaning they enable the stimulation of a better blood flow towards the affected area which leads to better oxygen flow and nutrition that the hair needs for hair growth. How Microneedling Works Microneedling is first done by putting numbing cream on the area where the procedure will be done. It uses a handheld device called a derma roller, which has tiny sterilized needles that create micro-injuries to the area of the scalp experiencing hair loss. These micro-injuries result in the stimulation of collagen production so it’s sometimes referred to as collagen induction therapy, making it a good procedure for hair rejuvenation. For hair growth on the other hand, the micro-injuries may lead to the stimulation of the production of stem cells in the hair follicles, leading to the growth of hair follicles. Microneedling with PRP: Combining the Benefits And Side Effects of PRP Injection and Microneedling.Microneedling is capable of helping the better absorption of products used for hair loss therapy like platelet-rich plasma. As such, combining the two optimizes the benefits for a variety of conditions linked to hair loss, leading to results that are better than the results of either of the 2 therapies alone. Similarly, the side effects of both procedures may manifest together as well. These are generally mild, tolerable, and go away on their own so it shouldn’t be a major concern for the patient undergoing the procedure:
